ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS
Here are the most common questions I get from my clients. If you have a question that has not been answered on this page, don't hesitate to ask.
When should I order my cake?
As a general rule I suggest you book 2-4 months in advance for a wedding cake and one month for a celebration cake. You may call to check in on last minute availability.
Do you bake from scratch?
I believe that the quality of your cake on the inside should match the beauty of your cake on the outside so I make all of my cakes, cheesecakes, and fillings from scratch.
Can you accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions?
While many of my recipes do not contain nuts, they are prepared in a kitchen where nuts have been used. I can also provide vegan and gluten free recipes but again, the kitchens used process gluten and all of the equipment has touched gluten at one time or another so I cannot guarantee that there will not be traces of gluten in the finished product.
Do you offer tastings?
Yes. You may schedule a tasting when you call to book your wedding consultation. Tastings are $25.00 and you may choose two flavors to try. Each additional flavor is $10. Should you book Talana Maria's for your cake, your $25.00 tasting fee will be applied to your final balance. Tastings are for all wedding clients and occasion cakes with over 100 servings. Tastings are tailored for 2 people. Additional guests may be accommodated at $10pp. If you would like more than 4 to take part in the tasting experience, you are welcome to order a take away box for $10.00 each. If you would like a tasting for a smaller cake you may also order a take away box. Should you need to cancel your tasting for any reason, I ask for 48 hours notice.
Can we have more than one cake flavor in our cake or does it have to all be the same?
Please feel free to choose any cake and filling combination you desire. I do not limit you to one flavor for your whole cake.
How much can I expect to pay for my cake?
My cakes generally range in price from $3.50 - $6.00 per serving depending on content and decoration. Each cake is personalized to your special day and I will work with you and your budget to create an unforgettable centerpiece for your occasion.
Do you deliver?
Yes. The delivery fee is worked into your cake pricing depending on distance. Set up does not include table draping or decorations.
What is your payment policy?
For weddings, a 25 percent deposit is required at the time of your order to book your date. The final balance of your wedding cake is due 2 weeks before your event date. For special occasion cakes under $100.00, payment can be made at the pick up of your cake. If your special occasion cake is over $100.00, final payment is due one week prior to the pick up of your cake. Payment can be made by cash, check, and credit card!
What happens if I have to reschedule my event?
If you must change your event date I will try my best to accommodate you but I cannot guarantee I will have your new date open. All retainers are non-refundable.
Do you ship your cakes?
No. Since your cake cannot be guaranteed to arrive in one piece, my cakes are not available to be shipped.
